MEET STEPHANIE

Stephanie Satkowiak has an extensive background in child welfare and domestic violence. Stephanie spent the last 13 years working for the North Carolina Judicial Branch, where she was responsible for grant writing and management, programmatic growth and development, data collection and visualization, and training. Stephanie also served as the project manager for the eCourts Civil Domestic Violence System that provided survivors with wrap-around services and remote access to the court system for filing domestic violence protective orders. Stephanie excels in creating community collaboratives, particularly among governmental entities, university partners, non-profits, and military installations. Having worked with the Commission of Indian Affairs, Stephanie specializes in Indian Child welfare, the need for kinship care and application of ICWA. Prior to moving to North Carolina, Stephanie practiced law in Michigan where she served as a certified family law practitioner, a court-appointed mediator, and an elder law advocate. Stephanie is passionate about public service, particularly to those most in need. She believes in advocacy and empowerment so that every voice can be heard.
