Laura has a Master of Social Work degree with experience in direct and indirect services, program development, research, and training. She has developed a toolkit for social workers and an online training curriculum focused on human trafficking. In this role, she also contributed to building collaborations, creating outreach materials, and developing a youth program in a rural community. Laura’s clinical background includes work in a residential treatment center for teenage girls, a community mental health center in a rural area, and a clinic providing psychological evaluations for high-risk clients. Her clinical expertise is rooted in trauma-focused care, particularly with youth. Additionally, Laura is passionate about supporting individuals with special needs, currently assisting in therapeutic equine services for children and providing vocational and enrichment services for adults with special needs. Throughout her work, Laura utilizes an intersectional, survivor-centered, equity-focused, and trauma-informed approach, aiming to collaborate with clients to create transformative change.
